In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing a wonderful husband and wife team, Andrew & Karen Martens.
About Our Guest.
Christian couple married for 45 years. Both retired, and have lived in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada since they were married. They are parents of two sons, Jordan & Jared. Their eldest son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes since 16 months old. Their second son was diagnosed with ADD at age 6.
Karen is a two-time cancer survivor in 2001 and 2008. She has had 3 major surgeries and Andrew has been her constant supporter and caregiver over the years.
Karen and Andrew have been helping couples with marriage and grief counseling over the years. Andrew is presently involved at their church with grief share.
They started a charity supporting single moms by giving them free vehicles.
They believe in the power of prayer and have a close relationship with the Lord that has brought them through all their difficult times.
Jared their 2nd son at the age of 25 years was tragically killed in a car accident on May 9th, 2009.

We want people to know that God loves them and they can draw strength from Him in whatever circumstances they go through.
When you go through difficulties, it is important to realize you can emerge through them. You are on a journey and the key is to keep moving forward. So, we need to allow people to grieve their own way.
Helping others is healing and gives purpose to carry on. There is a blessing that comes back to you.
